Thomas O. Much, also known as "Butch" to some of his friends, age 71, of Unity, died Monday, June 18, 2018 at the House of the Dove in Marshfield.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 23, 2018 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Unity. Rev. Amy Heinz will officiate. Inurnment to follow with Military Honors provided by Unity American Legion Post #358 and the Colby VFW Post #2227 at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Town of Brighton. Family and friends are welcome from 9:00 a.m. until time of service Saturday at the church.
Thomas was born on February 8, 1947, the son of Ervin and Jean (Florkowski) Much in Thorp. He graduated from High School and was enlisted into the U. S. Army serving in Viet Nam from 1964-67. On March 20, 1970, Thomas was united in marriage to Linda Turner in Oconomowoc. She preceded him in death on September 28, 2012. He worked as an auto mechanic and at United Delco in Milwaukee, Midway Chevrolet in Owen and Land O' Lakes in Spencer as a maintenance mechanic for 33 years.
Thomas was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Unity, member of the Unity American Legion Post #358 and the Colby VFW Post #2227. He enjoyed hunting, trapping, fishing and the outdoors.
Thomas is survived by his two children: Chad (Dawn) Much of Spencer and Shelly (John) Novack of Arpin; three grandchildren: Austin Hoernke, Brandon Much and Brody Much; two step-granddaughters, Amy Genisot and Aleasha DeLong; four step great-grandchildren: William, Donald, Brady and Autumn. He is further survived by three brothers: Jim Much of Milwaukee, Marion (Christa) Much of Rhinelander and Richard (Kathy) Much of Greenwood; a sister, Nancy (Keith) Hansen of Green Bay; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Linda and a sister, Patricia.
