Helen J. Ruggles, age 85, of Withee, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, December 12, 2019 at Clark County Rehabilitation and Living Center under the tender care of hospice.

A Memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, December 21 at Nazareth Lutheran Church in Withee.   Rev. Elizabeth Bier will officiate.  Family and friends are welcome from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Friday, December 20 at the Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in Owen and from 9:30 a.m. until time of service Saturday at the church.

Helen was born on July 8, 1934, the daughter of Arnold and Martha (Andersen) Rasmusen in Owen.  She graduated from Withee High School.  Helen worked for Clark County Health Care Center as a CNA for many years.  On August 21, 1952, she was united in marriage to Robert Ruggles in Owen.  He preceded her in death on October 1, 1984.

Helen was a member of Nazareth Lutheran Church.  She enjoyed traveling with her two sisters, reading and spending time with her grandchildren.  Most importantly, Helen cherished her family.

Helen is survived by her four children: Paul (Patricia Stoll) of Milwaukee, Robert (Cindy) Jr, of Withee, Leslie (David) Hilton of Owen and Timothy (Stacey) of Boyd; ten grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.  She is further survived by two sisters: Doris Lund of Withee and Janet Hannel (Tim Meidroth) of Peoria, IL; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband and her partner Barney Miller.
